DSU Volleyball looks to extend winning streak this weekend

The Dakota State University volleyball team looks to extend their winning streak this weekend in North Dakota. The Trojans are currently on a three-match winning streak. DSU concludes their seven straight DAC matches on road this weekend. The Trojans travel to Jamestown on Friday night at 7 p.m. On Saturday afternoon, DSU will visit Valley City State in Valley City, N.D. with the first serve slated for 3 p.m.
Dakota State is 11-16 overall and 4-5 in the DAC conference. Jamestown is 12-12 and 8-1 in the conference. Valley City State's overall record is 7-19 and 2-7 in the DAC.
For the first time this season, a new team is ranked atop in the DAC Volleyball weekly rankings. Dickinson State ended Jamestown's 33 straight DAC conference winning streak on Oct. 16.
Jamestown is second, followed by Black Hills State third, Minot State fourth, Dakota State fifth, SD School of Mines sixth, Valley City State seventh and Mayville State eighth.
Dakota State started the DAC's second half schedule with two road wins. The Trojans swept the Hardrockers 3-0 and rallied to defeat the Yellow Jackets 3-2.
The Jimmies won the first meeting from Dakota State on Sept. 24 in Madison, S.D. Jamestown came on top in four thrilling set that each set was decided by two points (23-25, 25-23, 28-26, 27-25). The Jimmies outhit the Trojans 61-44 and .177-.173. Jamestown suffered 33 attack errors in the match compared to the Trojans' 20.
Dakota State won the first meeting from Valley City State on Sept. 23 in Madison, S.D. The Trojans raced to a 2-0 lead (25-23 and 25-16) before suffering the third set defeat (18-25). DSU rallied in the fourth set (25-22) to take a 3-1 match over the Vikings.
