Trojan Volleyball returns home this weekend

The Dakota State University Trojan volleyball team concludes their regular season at home. The Trojans host DAC's co-leader Dickinson State on Friday night at 7 p.m. On Saturday afternoon, Dakota State will welcome Minot State at 3 p.m.
The Trojans conclude their regular season on Nov. 3 against Mayville State at 7 p.m. All matches will be held at the DSU Fieldhouse.
The themes for the final three home volleyball matches are:
Friday: DSU Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night and Jersey Night
Saturday: Costume Party
Nov. 3: Senior Night
Dakota State is 11-18 overall record and 4-7 in the DAC. Dickinson State is currently on a 10-match losing streak. The Blue Hawks are 16-12 overall and 10-1 in the conference. Minot State is 8-18 overall and 6-5 in the DAC.
Dickinson State won the first meeting from the Trojans in Dickinson, N.D. on Oct. 2. The Blue Hawks swept the Trojans 25-16, 25-14 and 25-12. Dickinson State had 33 kills and four attack errors in the match compared to the Trojans' 21 kills and 19 attack errors. The Blue Hawks recorded 15 team blocks compared to the Trojans' five.
Dakota State won the first set 25-21, but Minot State won the next three sets (25-21, 25-12 and 25-16) to take a 3-1 win over the Trojans on Oct. 1 in Minot, N.D. Minot State outhit the Trojans 57-34 and .259-.085 in the match.
Jamestown and Dickinson State are currently tied for first place with a 10-1 DAC record. The Jimmies own a tiebreaker over the Blue Hawks with a 3-0 win on Sept. 17 in Jamestown, N.D. Dickinson State defeated the Jimmies 3-1 on Oct. 16 in Dickinson, N.D.
Black Hills State and Minot State are tied for third place (6-5 DAC record) in the conference. The Yellow Jackets own a tiebreaker over Minot State. Dakota State is currently in fifth place with a 4-7 DAC record. The Trojans own tiebreakers over SD School of Mines (3-8 DAC record) and Valley City State (3-8 DAC record). Mayville State is eighth with a 2-9 conference record.
