Trojan Men's Basketball team faces two teams from GPAC this weekend

The Dakota State University men's basketball team will face two teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) in the USF/Famous Dave's Classic this weekend.  The two-day event will be held at Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

DSU faces Morningside on the first day of the classic.  Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.  On Saturday, the Trojans will play against the host team University of Sioux Falls at 4 p.m.

University of Sioux Falls is ranked in the 2010-11 NAIA Men's Basketball Division II 'Top 25' Preseason Poll.  The Cougars are ranked No. 8 after qualifying to the NAIA National Tournament last season.

Both Morningside and Dakota State are 1-1 overall record.  University of Sioux falls opens their season on Friday against Bellevue (Neb.) at 8 p.m.

The Trojans and Mustangs split their two meetings last season with each team winning on their home court.  Morningside defeated the Trojans 60-48 in Sioux City, Iowa on Jan. 4, 2010.  DSU beat the Mustangs 65-55 on Feb. 2, 2010 at DSU Fieldhouse.

Dakota State and Morningside will meet two other times this season.  DSU will host the Mustangs on Dec. 18 at DSU Fieldhouse.  The Trojans visit Morningside on Dec. 30 as part of the Mustang Holiday Classic in Sioux City, Iowa.

University of Sioux Falls defeated the Trojans 63-47 on Nov. 6, 2009 in both teams' only meeting last season at the USF Classic.  DSU and USF will face each other again at the Ed Harter Classic on Nov. 14.
