Trojans prepare for final DAC football game Sunday morning

Dacotah Bank DAC BowlThe Dakota State University Trojan football team battles with Valley City State in the second and final Dacotah Bank DAC Bowl on Sunday morning.  Kick-off is slated for 9 a.m. at Fargodome in Fargo, N.D.  This game will be counted as a DAC conference game.

Dakota State's overall record is 0-9 and winless in seven DAC conference games.  Valley City State is 3-6 and 2-5 in the conference. 

In both teams' last meeting, Valley City State opened with a 26-0 lead and defeated the Trojans on Oct. 16 at Lokken Field in Valley City, N.D.  Dakota State scored their first points of the game late in the second quarter as the Vikings led 26-7 at halftime.  The Vikings outscored the Trojans 21-0 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 47-7.

The Trojans were held to minus one rushing yards compared to the Vikings' 323 rushing yards.  VCSU outgained the Trojans 507-180 in total yards.

Other Dacotah Bank DAC Bowl pairings are Mayville State vs. Jamestown at 12:30 p.m., Minot State vs. No. 16 South Dakota School of Mines at 4 p.m. and Black Hills State vs. No. 11 Dickinson State.
