Trojan Women's Basketball team continues action on road this week

The Dakota State University Trojan women's basketball team continues their action on the road this week.  The Trojans will travel to Morris, Minn. for a non-conference game with NCAA Division III University of Minnesota-Morris.  Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. at the Physical Education Center.  On Friday night, DSU travels to Ellendale, N.D. to take on Trinity Bible College.  Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. at Ray Ulmer Fieldhouse.

Dakota State suffered two straight losses after opening the season with a win over in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan.  University of Minnesota-Morris will open their season on Tuesday at North Central (Minn.).  Trinity Bible's overall record is 1-1.  The Lion split with Association Free Lutheran Bible School last weekend in Plymouth, Minn.

This Thursday will mark exactly five years ago that Dakota State and University of Minnesota-Morris had met.  The Trojans and Cougars played in the Presentation College Classic in Aberdeen, S.D. on Nov. 18, 2005.  DSU raced to a 50-32 halftime lead and defeated Minnesota-Morris 82-59.

Dakota State defeated Trinity Bible College last year on Feb. 16, 2010 in Madison, S.D.  The Trojans led 56-19 at halftime and limited the Lions to 13 points in the second-half for a 95-32 win.  Every Trojan players scored in the game.

According to NAIA-DakStats statistical website as of Nov. 15, Dakota State ranks in the top 50 in two different categories.  The Trojans are 18th in the nation in 3-point field goals made per game with an average of 8.0.  DSU ranks 50th in the nation in total 3-point field goals made with 24.
