Three DSU volleyball players named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete

Margie AnthonySIOUX CITY, Iowa - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that a total of 387 volleyball players have been named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar Athletes.  Three Dakota State volleyball players have earned this prestigious honor.

The recipients were nominated by each institution's head coach.  A student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved at least junior academic status to qualify.Amy Pheneger

The following Dakota State players have earned this honor:

  • Margie Anthony - Senior Exercise Science major - daughter of Mark and Tana Anthony of Jefferson, S.D.
  • Amy Pheneger - Senior Physical Education major - daughter of Jeff and Angela Pheneger of Champlin, Minn.
  • Stephanie Kruggel - Junior Elementary Education major - daughter of Gary and Lori Kruggel of Winthrop, Minn.
