DSU Men's Basketball receives recognition to NAIA 'Top 25' Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Dakota State University men's basketball received a vote for the second straight week in the latest edition of the 2010-11 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll.  The national poll was announced Monday.

Dakota State defeated Mayville State 77-68 on Dec. 3 in Trojans' lone game of the week.  It was the Trojans' conference opener in the final year of the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC).

DSU will face NCAA Division III Presentation College on Thursday at the DSU Fieldhouse at 7:30 p.m.

Walsh (Ohio) remained at No. 1 with an undefeated record in seven games.  Oklahoma Wesleyan is No. 2, followed by No. 3 Cornerstone (Mich.), No. 4 Briar Cliff (Iowa) and No. 5 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical (Fla.).

Black Hills State is the only DAC team ranked in the Top 25.  The Yellow Jackets jumped one spot from No. 8 to No. 7.  Dickinson State (N.D.) and Jamestown received recognition to the poll.  The Blue Hawks received 58 votes after going undefeated on the road last week.  Jamestown recorded 17 votes.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents.  The third regular season Top 25 will be announced on Dec. 13.
