DSU men's basketball returns home Thursday night

December 8, 2010

The Dakota State University men's basketball team returns home on Thursday night for a brief two-game home stand.  The Trojans will host NCAA Division III Presentation College in a non-conference game.  Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. or 25 minutes after the completion of the women's game at DSU Fieldhouse.

DSU is 6-4 overall record.  The Trojans won their final Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) season opener on Dec. 3.  DSU defeated Mayville State 77-68 in Mayville, N.D.  Presentation is 1-3 overall record.  The Saints suffered three straight losses to open the season before recording their first win.  On Nov. 30, Presentation defeated Trinity Bible in a high scoring affair, 110-102.

The last time Presentation and Dakota State met was on Nov. 21, 2009 at the Strode Center in Aberdeen, S.D.  The Trojans outscored the Saints 29-17 in the first-half and held on for a 57-49 non-conference victory.  Both teams struggled from the field as DSU shot 33.3 percent compared to Saints' 27.7 percent.  DSU was 21-for-30 from the free-throw line, while Presentation went perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line.  The Trojans outrebounded the Saints 48-25.

DSU will host Spin-tacular Basketball Show during halftime. Spin-tacular Basketball Show is presented by four-time Guinness World Record holder Bruce Crevier. Creiver has traveled to over 35 countries performing his Spin-tacular Basketball program, and sharing a message of hope to this generation. He has appeared on numerous television shows, and in magazines and newspaper articles across the country.
