Windsor nominated for NFF National Scholar-Athlete

Josh WindsorDSU's Josh Windsor was one of the 121 nominees to the 2010 National Football Foundation (NFF) National Scholar-Athlete.  The nominees include schools from NCAA Division I, I-AA, II, III and NAIA.  Windsor was one of the seven NAIA nominees, but did not make the final round.

In 1959, the NFF launched the National Scholar-Athlete Awards program as the first initiative in history to grant postgraduate scholarships based on player's combined academic, athletic and leadership abilities.  During the past 52 years, the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards have truly become one of the most prestigious academic honors in all college sports.

NFF National Scholar-Athletes nominees must be a senior or graduate student in their final year of eligibility with a grade point average of 3.2 or better, have outstanding football ability as a starter or significant contributor and demonstrate strong leadership and citizenship skills.

Windsor started in all 10 Trojan games and recorded 71 tackles this season.  He was one of DSU's football captains.  Windsor was also named to ESPN Academic All-District VII third team College Division earlier this season.  In his junior year, he earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete honor.

Josh is the son of Paul and Lori Windsor of Harrison, Neb.  He is a senior Computer Science at Dakota State University.
