DSU men's basketball hosts Morningside Saturday night

The Dakota State University men's basketball team concludes their brief two-game home stand on Saturday night. The Trojans will welcome Morningside of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m., or 25 minutes after the completion of Briar Cliff-DSU women's basketball game at DSU Fieldhouse.
DSU is 7-4 overall record and received recognition in the latest NAIA Division II Men's Basketball national poll. The Trojans won their second straight game on Dec. 9. DSU rallied back from 12-point deficit to defeat NCAA Division II Presentation (S.D.) 80-76.
Morningside lost their second straight game after losing to Mount Marty in GPAC action on Dec. 11. The Mustangs suffered a 62-59 defeat at home to drop their overall record to 5-7.
The Mustangs and Trojans met in the University of Sioux Falls/Famous Dave's-Subway Classic in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Nov. 5, 2010. Dakota State opened the game with five straight points and extended their lead to 20-9 with 12:48 left in the first-half. The Trojans' lead grew to 48-33 at halftime and made their largest lead of the game at 73-52 with less than two minutes remaining in the game. DSU recorded at 75-57 win over the Mustangs. Dakota State outshot the Mustangs 52.6 percent (30-for-57) to 33.3 percent (19-for-57) from the field.
Morningside and Dakota State will meet for their third meeting of the season on Dec. 30 as part of Morningside Holiday Classic.
