DSU women's basketball hosts Briar Cliff, travels to North Dakota State

The Dakota State University women's basketball team will conclude their three-game home stand on Saturday night.  The Trojans welcome Briar Cliff of the Great Plains Athletic Conference.  The non-conference game will tip-off at 5 p.m. at DSU Fieldhouse in Madison, S.D.

The Trojans will travel to the Bison Sports Arena in Fargo, N.D. on Monday night.  DSU will play an exhibition game with NCAA Division I North Dakota State of the Summit League.  Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.

Dakota State is 4-6 overall record.  The Trojans defeated NCAA Division III Presentation (S.D.) 78-54 on Dec. 9 at DSU Fieldhouse.

Briar Cliff's overall record is 6-7 and received votes to the latest edition of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball national poll.  The Chargers suffered a 72-62 road defeat at Hastings on Dec. 11.  Briar Cliff will play at Midland on Thursday, Dec. 16.

North Dakota State is 5-4.  The Bison will visit Creighton (Neb.) before returning home on Monday night.

In Briar Cliff-DSU last meeting on Nov. 6, 2009 as part of Morningside Classic, the Trojans jumped to a 38-31 halftime lead.  Briar Cliff outscored the Trojans 45-36 in the second-half for a 76-74 thrilling victory in Sioux City, Iowa on the campus of Morningside College.
