Trojan men's basketball returns back to DAC action this weekend

The Dakota State University men's basketball returns back to Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) action this weekend. It could be the last time the Trojans will visit Minot and Dickinson in North Dakota. DSU travels to Minot State on Friday night. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the MSU Dome.
On Saturday, the Trojans visit Dickinson State for a 7 p.m (CT)/6 p.m. (MT) match-up. The game will be held at the Scott Gymnasium.
The last time Dakota State was in DAC conference action was on Dec. 3, 2010. The Trojans defeated Mayville State 77-68 in Mayville, N.D.
DSU is 9-5 overall record and 1-0 in the DAC. The Trojans suffered a 77-66 setback to No. 6 Briar Cliff and defeated Morningside 82-78 in overtime as part of two-day Morningside Classic event on Dec. 29-30.
Minot State is 5-10 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The Beavers will host Briercrest (SK) on Tuesday.
Dickinson State is 9-7 and 2-0 in the DAC. The Blue Hawks defeated Briercrest 95-57 on Jan. 3.
Dakota State and Dickinson State received votes to the latest NAIA Division II Men's Basketball national poll on Dec. 13, 2010. The next national poll release will be on Jan. 10.
The Trojans and Minot State split two meetings last season, with each team winning on their own home court. The Trojans upset then-No. 11 Minot State 76-75 on Jan. 8, 2010 in Madison, S.D. The Beavers defeated DSU 93-70 in Minot, N.D. on Feb. 6, 2010
Dickinson State won both meetings from the Trojans last year. The Blue Hawks defeated DSU 74-67 in Madison, S.D. on Jan. 9, 2010. On Feb. 5, 2010, the Blue Hawks beat Dakota State 63-46 in Dickinson, N.D.
