DSU women's basketball team makes one final regular season trip to N.D.

The Dakota State University women's basketball team will make their final regular season trip to North Dakota this weekend for a pair of DAC conference games.  This weekend will conclude the first-half of the DAC conference season schedule.

DSU will visit Jamestown on Friday night.  The game will be held at the Civic Center in Jamestown, N.D.  Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday afternoon, the Trojans travel to Valley City, N.D. to take on Valley City State.  Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.

Dakota State is 5-11 overall record and 1-4 in the DAC.  Dakota State recorded their first conference win of the season on Jan. 14 against SD Mines.  The Trojans suffered a 72-41 home defeat to nationally-ranked Black Hills State on Jan. 15.

Jamestown is 13-4 overall and 3-2 in the conference.  The Jimmies had won three straight games.  Valley City State is 12-7 and 2-3 in the DAC.  The Vikings are currently on a three-game losing streak after winning eight straight games.  JC defeated VCSU 75-67 on Jan. 13 in Jamestown, N.D.  The Jimmies recorded their sixth win in the last seven games.

JC is in a three-way tie for second place in the DAC standings.  The Vikings is tied for fifth with SD Mines.  DSU is tied for seventh with Mayville State.

Jamestown won the last four meetings from Dakota State, including three games last year.  The Jimmies defeated the Trojans 66-52 on Jan. 22, 2010 (in Madison, S.D.) and 91-68 on Feb. 20, 2010 (in Jamestown, N.D.).  JC ended DSU's season in the DAC Postseason Quarterfinals in Jamestown, N.D. on Feb. 24, 2010 (74-53).  The last time Dakota State defeated the Jimmies was on Jan. 10, 2009 at the DSU Fieldhouse,  where the Trojans upset No. 4 Jamestown 70-68.

Dakota State and Valley City State split their two meetings last season, with each team winning on their home court.  The Trojans defeated the Vikings 77-75 in Madison, S.D. on Jan. 26, 2010.  VCSU beat DSU 67-56 in Valley City, N.D. on Feb. 19.
