Trojans looks to snap four-game losing streak this weekend

The Dakota State University men's basketball team looks to snap their four-game losing streak this weekend. DSU travels to North Dakota for a pair of DAC conference games to conclude their first-half portion of the conference schedule.
Dakota State will travel to Jamestown on Friday night. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Center in Jamestown, N.D. On Saturday night, the Trojans visit Valley City State at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse in Valley City, N.D. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
DSU is 9-9 overall record and 1-4 in the DAC. Dakota State lost to SD Mines and Black Hills State last weekend at home.
Jamestown is 14-5 and 3-2 in the conference. Valley City State's overall record is 7-12 and 1-4 in the DAC. The Jimmies defeated the Vikings 86-76 on Jan. 13.
JC, receiving votes in the latest NAIA Division II Men's Basketball national poll, is third in the DAC standings. Dakota State and VCSU is in a three-way tie for sixth place.
Dakota State and Jamestown split their two meetings last season, with each team winning on their own home court. The Trojans defeated the Jimmies 63-53 on Jan. 22, 2010 in Madison, S.D. On Feb. 20, 2010 in Jamestown, N.D., JC went on to beat DSU 62-51.
Valley City State had won the last 10 meetings from Dakota State, including three games last year. The Vikings defeated the Trojans 71-54 (DAC Postseason Tournament on Feb. 24, 2010) and 59-58 (Feb. 19, 2010) in Valley City, N.D. VCSU beat DSU 76-66 on Jan. 26, 2010 in Madison, S.D.
The last time Dakota State defeated the Vikings was on Dec. 17, 2005 in Madison, S.D. (82-81 in overtime) DSU's last win at Valley City, N.D. was on Jan. 21, 2005 (89-78), the year when the Trojans finished second in the DAC conference regular season.
