Coy selected as DAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Andy CoyThe Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) has selected Dakota State's Andy Coy for men's indoor track athlete of the week for the week of Feb. 14-20.

Coy won the 1000-meter run at the Dordt Invitational in Sioux Center, Iowa last Saturday.  He finished with a time of two minutes and 27.79 seconds, which is the ninth best runner in the NAIA.  Coy has now qualified for NAIA Nationals in four events - 600-meter, 800-meter, 1000-meter and one-mile runs.

Andy is the son of Rusty and Cindy Coy of Hill City, S.D.  He is sophomore Biology major at Dakota State University.

Dakota State competes in the final DAC Indoor Track and Field Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday.  The conference championship meet will be held at the Donald E. Young Gymnasium in Spearfish, S.D., hosted by Black Hills State University.  First event is slated for 10 a.m. (MT) on Friday.
