Larsen named DAC Men's Basketball All-Conference Third Team

Mike LarsenDICKINSON, N.D. - After the completion of the final Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) Men's Basketball Post-season Tournament on Tuesday night, the DAC announced its All-Conference and post-season awards.  Dakota State's senior Mike Larsen was chosen as All-Conference Third Team guard.

Larsen, a transfer from Northwest Missouri State, played his final year of basketball at Dakota State.  He started in 28 games and missed one game due to an injury.  Larsen led the team with 14.3 points per game.  During the season, he shot 43 percent from the field (128-for-298) and 72.7 percent from the free-throw line (101-for-139).

According to NAIA DakStats statistical website as of March 2, Larsen ranks fifth in the nation in steals per game (2.5).  He also ranks sixth in the nation in total steals with 71.  Larsen tied for fifth in the Trojan men's basketball record book for most steals in a season (Brett Schwartz - 1989-90).

Mike LarsenDakota State finished the 2010-11 season with an overall record of 15-14 and 6-8 in the DAC conference.  It was the first winning season since 1993 and the first time the Trojans reached 15 wins since 2004.

Mike is the son of Larry Larsen and Trudy Conklin of South Jordan, Utah.
