Trojan Baseball postpones home opener
March 16, 2011
After a week-long trip to three different states last week, the Dakota State University baseball returned home to find its home field (Flynn Field) is still under snow, and even warmer temperatures won't have the field ready in time for Trojans' scheduled home opener on Thursday with in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan.
Due to field conditions, DSU has postponed its home opener and no make-up date will be made. The Trojans are scheduled to play in a four-game series with Hastings of the Great Plains Athletic Conference this weekend. The doubleheader starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Duncan Field in Hastings, Neb.
DSU's new home opener is scheduled for March 25 to March 27. The Trojans will host University of Minnesota-Morris in a nine-inning game on each day.
Check back to DSU Athletics homepage (www.dsuathletics.com) for future updates on postponements and cancellations. Contact the DSU Athletics office at 605-256-5229 if you have any questions.
