DSU Athletics shuffle baseball & softball DAC opening weekend schedules

March 30, 2011

MADISON, S.D. - With snow covered and wet field conditions in Valley City, N.D., the Dakota State University baseball and softball teams scrambled to get their Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) opening weekend relocated and rescheduled.

Valley City State was originally scheduled to host Dakota State in the DAC opener this weekend.

VCSU and DSU softball teams will travel to the Husky Dome on the campus of St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. for a four-game series.  Because of the previously schedule events at the dome, the teams will play late games on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2.  The doubleheader will start at 11 p.m. on Friday and 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Dakota State's softball team was originally scheduled to visit Presentation on Friday, but had been postponed due to rescheduling of the DAC conference games.  Make-up date has not been set.

In baseball, the Trojans will face Valley City State in a four-game series in Bellevue, Neb. on Friday and Saturday.  The game times for each day will be announced later.

Check back to DSU Athletics homepage (www.dsuathletics.com) for future updates on postponements and cancellations.  Contact the DSU Athletics office at 605-256-5229 if you have any questions.
