DSU softball welcomes Mayville State in DAC four-game series at Thue

The Dakota State University softball team will host Mayville State in a four-game series this weekend at the Thue Softball Complex. The Trojans and Comets square off in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Dakota State is 11-8 overall record and 0-4 in the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC). The Trojans swept Presentation (S.D.) in DSU's season home opener on Wednesday, April 6. DSU pound the Saints in the first game 16-2 in five innings and defeated PC in the second game 6-1.
Mayville State is 4-12 and have not yet played a DAC conference game this season. The Comets' last game was on March 18 where they split with the members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference in high scoring affairs. Mayville State lost to Midland 14-13 and defeated Mount Marty 17-15.
Mayville State won four of the five meetings from Dakota State last season. The Comets took three of four from DSU in Mayville, N.D. on April 17 and 18, 2010. The two teams met in their last meeting in the DAC Softball Post-season tournament loser's out game in Valley City, N.D. on May 9, 2010. Mayville State held on to defeat the Trojans 6-4.
