Stevenson earns DAC Softball player-of-the-week honor

The Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) has selected DSU's junior Amanda Stevenson as its softball player-of-the-week, announced on Monday.
Stevenson had an eight-game hitting streak for the week with a .520 batting average and a .920 slugging percentage. In eight contests, she was 13-for-25 behind the plate with a double, three triples and a home run. Stevenson also scored five runs, drove in nine runs and walked twice. She recorded four stolen bases in five attempts.
According to the NAIA DakStats statistical website, Stevenson ranks first in the nation in triples per game (0.3), second in total triples (7) and ninth in hits per game (1.6). She also ranks 12th in the nation in both batting average (.487) and slugging percentage (.908). Stevenson leads the team with 24 RBIs.
Amanda is the daughter of Daryl Stevenson and Stephanie Woodcock of Victoria, B.C. Canada. She is a Business major at Dakota State University.
DSU returns back to action on Tuesday as they visit the University of South Dakota. The non-conference doubleheader starts at 4 p.m. in Vermillion, S.D.
