DSU student-athletes assist with Health Extravaganza activities

DSU Student-Athletes assist with Health ExtravaganzaSeveral Dakota State University volleyball, women's basketball, men's basketball, cross country and track student-athletes went to Colman-Egan school on Wednesday afternoon in Colman, S.D.  Dakota State continued their growth in the NAIA's Champions of Character initiative program as they assisted in health extravaganza activities.

DSU student-athletes assisted with health booths and a variety of physical activities such as playing basketball and volleyball.  The elementary and high school students collected information from the health booths, food tasting and competed in activities that included prizes.

DSU Student-Athletes assist with Health ExtravaganzaThe Colman-Egan Health Extravaganza's purpose is to teach the students on why being healthy is very important to their lives.  Physical activities and eating proper nutrition are the topics that are covered at the extravaganza event.

Colman-Egan sponsored this event in cooperation with the grants received from the South Dakota Department of Education/Team Nutrition Fuel Up to Play 60.
