Trojans compete in Sioux City Relays this weekend

The Dakota State University track and field teams will compete in the annual Sioux City Relays this weekend at Olsen Stadium in Sioux City, Iowa.  The 2011 two-day event gets underway on Friday, April 15 at noon with the women's hammer throw.  Running events get underway with the women's and men's 10,000-meter runs at 3:30 p.m.  Events get underway on Saturday at 8 a.m.

Sioux City Relays are usually the most competitive meet since it started in 2002.  The field is large with several NCAA schools (Augustana, Buena Vista, University of Mary, Northern State, University of South Dakota and Wayne State) along with NAIA schools (Briar Cliff, Dakota State, Dakota Wesleyan, Dickinson State, Iowa Western, Jamestown, Mount Marty, Morningside, Northwestern (IA), University of Sioux Falls, Valley City State and Minot State).

The weather forecast for Sioux City this weekend as of April 13 (today) calls for rain and wind on Friday with a 43 degrees for a high.  On Saturday, the weather predicts some sun in the afternoon with a high temperature of 50 degrees.
