Two DSU runners capture individual titles at Sioux City Relays Saturday

2011 Sioux City Relays Full Results

Anthony DrealanSIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota State University outdoor track and field teams finished their second day of the Sioux City Relays on Saturday. Numerous NCAA and NAIA schools competed in the cold and windy conditions at the Olsen Stadium.

Anthony Drealan set a new DSU school record in the men's 5000-meter run. He won the individual title with a time of 15 minutes and 1.71 seconds. The previous old record was set by Robert Blase (15:04.08) in 1998.  Devon Berkness was second with a time of 15:09.82, which is the fifth fastest time in the school record book. Michael Hoffman placed 11th in 16:26.71.

Devon BerknessAndy Coy clocked a time of 4:01.36 to capture the men's 1500-meter run title. Kace Groff placed 37th with a time of 4:29.03.

In the women's high jump, Danielle Rowe recorded a second-place finish. She leaped with a measurement of five feet and three inches. Stephanie Uher was 11th (4 feet, 11 inches).

The women's 4 x 100-meter relay placed third with a time of 51.64 seconds.

Andy CoyUher, Brandi Gau, Amber Krogstad and Rowe put together a fifth-place finish in the women's 4 x 200-meter relay. The relay team finished with a time of 1:48.61 (fifth fastest time in DSU school record book).

Summer Bronson placed ninth in the women's 100-meter hurdles (17.47 seconds).

Other place finishers are: Sara Schultz (15th in women's 1500-meter run – 5:54.71); Jordy Peterson (13th in men's long jump – 19 feet and .5 inches); Trevor Rosstznecht (11th in men's discus – 125 feet and eight inches) and Ryan Gimbel (19th in men's discus – 101 feet and 10 inches).Danielle Rowe

Dakota State returns home for the first time on Thursday. The Trojans will host the DSU Invitational at the Trojan Field. First event is slated to start at 12 noon.
