Drealan and Gimbel break new DSU school records at Howard Wood Relays

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Dakota State University outdoor track and field teams competed in one of the largest meets in the Midwest Region on Friday. The Trojans participated in the Howard Wood Relays on Friday. Two athletes broke a new DSU school records.
Anthony Drealan improved his personal and DSU school record in the men's 5000-meter run. He placed third with a time of 15 minutes and .34 seconds. Devon Berkness was fourth (15:08.89).
In the men's hammer throw, Ryan Gimbel continued to break DSU school record each week. He set a new school record measurement of 116 feet and seven inches for a 16th-place finish.
Andy Coy finished sixth in the college men's 800-meter feature race that featured elite runners from the region (including NCAA Division I and II). He clocked a time of 1:52.22, which is third fastest time in DSU school record book.
Two DSU men's discus throwers placed in the top-10. Trevor Rosstznecht was sixth with a measurement of 129 feet. Jeff Rieger placed ninth (122 feet and nine inches).
Brandi Gau recorded a time of 59.69 seconds for a ninth-place finish in the women's 400-meter dash. Her time was the fourth fastest time in DSU school record book.
The men's 4 x 100-meter relay was sixth with a time of 44.40 seconds. The women's finished eighth in 50.04 seconds – third fastest time in school record book.
Other DSU place finishers are: Claire Beck (14th in 400-meter dash – 1:02.19); Stacey Berg (17th in 200-meter dash – 23.16 seconds); Gau (16th in 200-meter dash – 26.49 seconds); Gimbel (13th in discus – 111 feet and two inches); Kace Groff (24th in 800-meter run – 2:04.44); Nicole Jurrens (17th in 400-meter dash – 1:05.35); Thomas Kjerengtroen (11th in 800-meter run – 1:57.46); Jared Mengenhausen (12th in 200-meter dash – 22.73 seconds); Jordy Peterson (10th in triple jump – 40 feet and 10.25 inches); Laura Porch (23rd in 200-meter dash – 27.50 seconds); Rosstznecht (17th in hammer throw – 104 feet and 10 inches); Jerad Schlobohm (22n in 800-meter run – 2:00.92) and Stephanie Uher (11th in 400-meter dash – 1:01.02).
Dakota State continues their action in the second day of the Howard Wood Relays on Saturday. First event is slated to start at 8 a.m.
