Hargrove earns DAC Baseball postseason honors

Chance HargroveThe Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) has announced its All-Conference and postseason awards on Monday.  Dakota State's senior Chance Hargrove was selected for two postseason awards.

Hargrove - 6'1" and 205 pounds - was named to DAC All-Conference second team outfielder.  He started in 38 games for the Trojans in 2011.  Hargrove's batting average was .306 with 34 hits in 111 at-bats.  He recorded six doubles and three home runs.  He led the Trojans with 24 RBIs and slugging percentage of .441.  He has an on-base percentage of .388.

In his two-year career at DSU, Hargrove recorded a batting average of .300.  He had 14 doubles and 10 home runs with a slugging percentage of .490.

Hargrove also was selected to the DAC Gold Glove team (as a right fielder) for outstanding defense.  He recorded a .967 fielding percentage with two errors and 52 put-outs.

Chance is the son of Rusty and Sonya Hargrove of Newport, Wash.
