Trojan Softball shatters school records

Amanda StevensonThe Dakota State University softball team has shattered school records during the 2011 season.

Juniors Amanda Stevenson and Jesica Alcala each tied the DSU school record for most triples in a single season.  Both had eight triples and tied with Mandy Austin in 2001.

Stevenson tied the Trojan's career record for most triples with nine with Allison Hubers from 2004 and 2005.

Jesica AlcalaDakota State broke three new team single season records.  The Trojans recorded 20 triples, which broke the previous old mark of 17 in 2003.  DSU recorded a new single season record in slugging percentage of .476 (previous old record was .446 in 2004).

As a team in a single season, the Trojans broke a new DSU school record of 86 stolen bases.  DSU had 82 stolen bases twice in 2006 and 2009.
