Six Trojans earn DAC Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference honors

Anthony DrealanSix Dakota State University outdoor track and field athletes had been named to Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference honor.

To earn the All-Conference honor in outdoor track and field, the athlete needs to place in the top three for individual events.  In relay events, the four members of the relay team who capture the relay event title would also be named to All-Conference.

Devon BerknessThe six Trojan athletes named to DAC All-Conference are:

  • Anthony Drealan (senior - Fulda, Minn.) - first place in the men's 5000-meter run (15 minutes and 35.33 seconds) and second place in the men's 1500-meter run (four minutes and 3.96 seconds)
  • Devon Berkness (senior - Madison, S.D.) - first place in the men's 10,000-meter run (31 minutes and 22.14 seconds - new DAC conference meet record)
  • Danielle Rowe (senior - Rapid City, S.D.) - second place in the women's high jump (five feet and seven inches)
  • Andy Coy (sophomore - Hill City, S.D.) - first place in the men's 800-meter run (one minute and 54.69 seconds)
  • Danielle RoweSummer Bronson (sophomore - Wilmot, S.D.) - third place in the women's 100-meter hurdles (15.65 seconds)
  • Michael Hoffman (sophomore - Beresford, S.D.) - third place in the men's 10,000-meter run (34 minutes and 14.95 seconds)

Dakota State University will be sending five athletes - Drealan, Berkness, Rowe, Coy and Hoffman - to the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on May 26-28.  The meet will be held in Marian, Ind.
