DSU have busy summer sports camps

2011 DSU Sports Summer Camps Flyer

The summer is approaching and so are the Dakota State University summer sports camps. The Trojans will have a variety of summer camps that range from football, volleyball and basketball this summer.

The boys and girls basketball day camp will be held June 8 to June 10 at the DSU Fieldhouse. The camp is open to both boys and girls entering kindergarten to sixth grade. The camp covers the basic fundamentals that will provide the building blocks for young players to develop a passion for the game that can last a lifetime. The cost is $75.

On Thursday, June 9, the Trojan Football team will be holding a nine-man team camp. It provides a learning atmosphere for teams to sharpen their football skills and knowledge. The team camp will help develop each team in various ways while competing in a safe and controlled environment. The cost is 40 dollars per camper.

Basketball positions camp is held on June 13-14. The camp is for girls entering seventh through twelfth grade. Students will be taught various skills and fundamentals specific to their position. The cost is $125 for day camper and $175 for overnight camper.

The Trojan football program is hosting a big man camp and passing tournament on June 14. The cost for big man camp and passing tournament is $100 per team and $50 per additional teams from the same school.

DSU football will have a three-day camp from June 19-21. The football team camp provides a learning atmosphere for teams to sharpen their football skills and knowledge. The cost of the three-day camp is $125 for an overnight camper or $100 for the camper who plans to commute.

DSU women's basketball will be conducting three team camps during the summer for junior varsity and varsity teams. The dates for team camps are June 15-16, July 7 and July 26-27. Each team is guaranteed to play three games. Camp T-shirts are given to teams that attend two-day camps and registered before June 1. The cost is $150 per team camp.

The Dakota State volleyball team will have a week-long camp from June 20-23. On June 20, the Trojans will be conducting a hitter/setter camp. The serve, serve receptions and defense camp will be held on June 21. Those camps starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. The cost of the camp is $60 and includes lunch.

The two-day volleyball team camp will be held on June 22 and 23. The cost per team that plans to commute is $125. Teams that plan to stay overnight will cost $175 per team.

DSU volleyball will also have a satellite camp. The Trojan volleyball coaching staff will come to your school and work with your team. The cost is $30 per player for three-hour session.

The Trojan men's basketball team camp will be held on June 27-28. The team camp is for junior varsity and varsity teams. Each team is guaranteed five games and each camper will receive free official camp T-shirt. The cost is $300 by June 10.
