DSU competes in final day of NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships

MARION, Ind. – Four Dakota State University athletes competed in the final day of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at the Outdoor Sports Complex on Saturday.

Three DSU runners ran in the early morning men's marathon, which featured 71 runners in the race. Michael Hoffman (sophomore – Beresford, S.D.) placed 26th overall with a time of two hours, 45 minutes and 6.10 seconds. Anthony DrealanAnthony Drealan (senior – Fulda, Minn.) and Devon Berkness (senior – Madison, S.D.) ran in the race, but were unable to finish it. 

Danielle Rowe (senior – Rapid City, S.D.) finished 13th in the women's high jump. She cleared a high jump measurement of five-feet-and-three inches. Rowe was unable to clear in three attempts for 5'5".

It was the final collegiate outdoor track meet for Drealan, Berkness and Rowe.

Devon BerknessThe NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship meet marks the end of the outdoor track and field season. Dakota State will be making a transition to Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) next season.
