DSU had successful annual 'Blue and Gold' Golf classic

Dakota State University Athletics had another successful 'Blue and Gold' golf classic on a beautiful day last Friday at the Madison Country Club. It was the 23rd year that DSU has hosted this annual event for athletic scholarships fundraiser.
"This year's Blue and Gold golf tournament was a great success," said David Anderson, Dakota State Athletic Development Director and tournament director. "Much of its success can be attributed to many sponsors we had contributing to the fun day of golfing."
The DSU Athletic Department would like to say a huge 'thank you' to the following sponsors for the golf classic event: The Stadium Sports Grill, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Northwestern Energy, First Premier/Premier Bankcard, Northern Plains Fitness, Heartland Consumer Power District, Great Western Bank, East River Power Cooperative, Wells Fargo Bank, First Bank and Trust, Aramark, A1 Travel South Dakota, Kundert-Williams Insurance and Prostrollo Motor Company.
"The other part of its success came from the number of golfers who participated in the event," added Anderson. "We had around 100 golfers around the course, ending up with just four strokes separating the top four teams."

First Place (57): Larson Manufacturing - Bob Kiecksee, Shane Dauer, Kevin Eisenbeisz, Ray Bob Henry and Kyle Steckler.
Second Place (58): First Premier/Premier Bankcard - Jason Schmidt, Tim Halverson, Luke Hutcheson, Jay Kosters and Toby Privett.
Tie-Third Place (61): Anderson Publications - Matt Anderson, Josh Anderson, Ron Bartels, Jay Ortman and Jeff Nielsen.
Tie-Third Place (61): Madison Farmers Elevator - Mark Stoller, Jeff Oftedal, Matt Oftedal and Rob Thuringer.
