Large earns A.I.I. Male Athlete of the Week honor

Brandon LargeMADISON, S.D. - The Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) has selected DSU's Brandon Large as Male Athlete of the Week honor, announced Monday morning.

Large, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound junior quarterback from Mesa, Ariz., totaled over 300 yards of offense in helping DSU snap a 17-game losing streak and a seven-game home losing streak in 24-16 win over Briar Cliff.  Large completed 24 of 39 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns.  He rushed 12 times for 63 yards with a score in the victory.

According to the NAIA-DakStats statistical website as of Monday, Large ranks sixth in the nation in total offense with 1945 yards.  He ranks 12th in the nation in passing yards per game (227.9).

Brandon is the son of Derek and Cathy Large.  He is majoring in Physical Education at Dakota State University.
