DSU men's cross country team receives votes to NAIA 'Top 25' poll

FINAL REGULAR-SEASON NATIONAL RANKINGS
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the second time this season, the Dakota State University men's cross country team received recognition to the 2011 NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' 'Top 25' national poll. The final regular-season edition was announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Dakota State received a vote to the national poll. Two teams from the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) are ranked in the top 25. Cal State San Marcos recorded 454 points for No. 8 ranking and British Columbia with 175 points for No. 22 ranking. The A.I.I. Cross Country meet will be held on Nov. 5 in San Marcos, Calif.
The Trojans finished strong in their final regular season meet on Oct. 22. DSU recorded 94 points for a fourth-place finish in the Mount Marty Invitational. Andy Coy, who was named to A.I.I. Male Athlete of the Week, finished second with just one second (25:41.31) behind No. 19 Concordia's (Neb.) runner. Matt Fideler was fourth with a time of 25:54.26.
