DSU travels to St. Cloud State for women's exhibition game on Saturday

MADISON, S.D. - The Dakota State University women's basketball team travels to St. Cloud, Minn. Saturday night to take on NCAA Division II St. Cloud State. It will be an exhibition game for both teams. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall.
Head coach Joe Reints will be entering his fourth year at DSU. Chris Stoebner is in his first year as an assistant coach for the Trojans.
Dakota State returns five players from last year's team. The Trojans return junior Yui Onodera and sophomores Courtney Hamblin, Cassie Jacobsen, Julie Munson and Kylie Westover. DSU have seven new faces on the team. They are Kirby Bertram, Sharee Galbraith, Annalesha Kalis, Kendra Lindblad, Katy Pillar, Jaynie Spier and Jayda Swenson.
Dakota State is a member of the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) after completing their final year membership of the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) last year. The Trojans finished their 2010-11 season with a 6-21 overall record.
DSU will be hosting the A.I.I. Independent Tournament at DSU Fieldhouse in February.
St. Cloud State is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Huskies finished their 2010-11 season with an overall record of 12-14 and 9-13 in the NSIC. St. Cloud State is picked to finish 11th in the NSIC this year. SCSU returns Nicole Anderson (junior) as she was selected as player to watch in the NSIC.
Dakota State will play two more exhibition games this season. The Trojans play another NSIC foe, Augustana College, on Nov. 29 in Sioux Falls, S.D. DSU plays their final exhibition game on Jan. 4, 2012 as they travel to Fargo, N.D. to take on NCAA Division I North Dakota State University.
DSU kicks off their 2011-12 season on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at DSU Fieldhouse. Dakota State hosts Grace College (Neb.) at 6 p.m.
