The 2011 National Championships are hosted by Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia (Ore.). It is the third-consecutive year that the event has been held at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
The NAIA Cross Country National Championship meet will consist of 32 men's and 32 women's teams. There will be over 700 student-athletes combined and over 130 institutions will be at the Nationals meet. Included in the meet, there will be individual qualifiers from non-championship conference teams.
Two runners from Dakota State will compete in the national meet. Senior Matt Fideler (Volga, S.D.) will be competing at the nationals for his third straight year. Junior Andy Coy (Hill City, S.D.) will be making his second consecutive appearance in the national championship meet.
Coy placed third at the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Cross Country Championship meet on Nov. 5 in San Marcos, Calif. He finished with a time of 25 minutes and 19 seconds and was named to All-Conference team. Fideler was 11th at the meet with a time of 25:57.
