Trojans hand Trinity Bible men’s basketball first loss

ELLENDALE, N.D. – Dakota State limited Trinity Bible (N.D.) to 29.1 percent shooting from the field Saturday evening as the Trojans defeated the Lions 72-48 at Ray Ulmer Fieldhouse.
Dakota State ended their two-game losing streak to improve their overall record to 4-3. Trinity Bible dropped to 3-1.
DSU raced to a 36-18 halftime lead. The Trojans were 46.7 percent from the field compared to the Lions' 25 percent in the first-half.
Dakota State outscored Trinity Bible 36-30 in the second-half.
Luke Lamb recorded 22 points off the bench for the Trojans. He was 8-for-13 from the field, including 5-for-10 from the 3-point line. Cameron Krump added 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Donald Stewart had 11 points. Stephen Klekas scored nine points and dished out three assists. Keith Biggers pulled down nine rebounds.
Mikey Rosario had 15 points for Trinity Bible. He grabbed seven rebounds.
DSU shot 45.2 percent overall from the field (28-for-62), while Trinity Bible converted 16 field goals in 55 attempts. The Trojans were 10-for-31 from the 3-point arc (32.3 percent) compared to the Lions' 5-for-19 (26.3 percent).
DSU nearly had more than 20 rebounds than Trinity Bible (50-31). The Trojans had 17 offensive rebounds compared to the Lions' eight.
Dakota State plays their second exhibition game of the season on Tuesday night. The Trojans take on NCAA Division II and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletics (NSIC) Augustana. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. It will be televised live on Midco Sports Network channel.
