Three Trojan runners earn 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athlete

VANCOUVER, Wash. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Friday that 159 men's and 296 women's cross country student-athletes have been named to 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order to qualify for the honor.Clarie Beck

Three Dakota State University cross country runners had been named to this prestigious honor.  They are:

  • Stephanie Warnke - senior - Fairfax, S.D. - Elementary Education major - Parents:  Tim and Brenda Warnke
  • Claire Beck - junior - Dallas, S.D. - Elementary Education major - Parents:  Brian and Donna Beck
  • Andy Coy - junior - Hill City, S.D. - Biology/Secondary Education major - Parents:  Rusty and Cindy Coy
