Lamb earns A.I.I. Male Athlete of the Week honor

Luke Lamb dunks in DSU's 68-57 win over Mayville State Saturday night - Photo by Donald WeidlerMADISON, S.D. - It was announced Monday morning that the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) has selected Dakota State men's basketball Luke Lamb as its Male Athlete of the Week.

A 6-foot-6 forward from Altoona, Iowa, finished the week with 36 points, nine rebounds and six assists in leading DSU to a pair of wins over AIB (Iowa) and Mayville State.  He tallied 19 points and grabbed six rebounds in 75-54 road win over the Eagles, while adding 17 points and three rebounds in 68-57 home win over the Comets.

Lamb also had two steals and a blocked shot, while hitting 14 of his 22 shots (63.6 percent), along with seven 3-pointers.

According to the NAIA-Daktronics statistical website as of Monday, Lamb ranks 48th in the nation in total 3-pointers with 23.

Luke is the son of Kathy Lamb.  He is majoring in Business Administration at Dakota State University.

Luke LambDakota State (7-4 overall record) will not return back to action until Monday, Dec. 12.  The Trojans play an exhibition game with NCAA Division I South Dakota State University.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Frost Arena in Brookings, S.D.  DSU returns back to regular-season action on Saturday, Dec. 17 as they host Bellevue (Neb.).
