Two DSU distance runners compete at Iowa State Open Friday

IOWA STATE OPEN FRIDAY'S RESULTS

Nic PenningAMES, Iowa – Two Dakota State University men's distance runners competed in the Iowa State Open Friday at Lied Recreational Center, hosted by Iowa State University.

In the men's 5000-meter non-seeded race, Nic Penning recorded an 11th-place finish out of 35 runners with a time of 15 minutes and 53.21 seconds.  Michael Hoffman was 27th with a time of 16:52.64.

Matt Fideler and Andy Coy will be running in the men's one-mile run tomorrow (Saturday) in the Iowa State Open.

Michael HoffmanDakota State will be taking the majority of the team members to the Wildcat Open, hosted by Wayne State University, on Saturday.  The field event kicks-off at 10 a.m. with the weight throw, long jump, high jump and pole vault.  The first running event takes place at 1 p.m. with the women's and men's hurdles.
