Coy and Fideler qualify for NAIA Indoor Track nationals in one-mile run

IOWA STATE OPEN RESULTS - DAY 2

Andy CoyAMES, Iowa – Dakota State's junior Andy Coy (Hill City, S.D.) and senior Matt Fideler (Volga, S.D.) had qualified another event to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships.  Both distance runners competed men's one-mile run in the Iowa State Open Saturday at Lied Recreational Center.

Coy recorded a fourth-place finish with a time of four minutes and 17.03 seconds in a 47-runner field that featured schools from NAIA and NCAA levels.  Fideler came in fifth-place with a time of 4:18.79.

Matt FidelerCoy and Fideler will be making their third appearance to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in early March.  Coy already qualified for the nationals in the men's 1000-meter run, while Fideler qualified in the men's 3000-meter run.
