DSU indoor track and field competes in the Dordt Invitational Saturday

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The majority of the Dakota State University indoor track and field teams competed in the Dordt Invitational at DC's Recreation Center Saturday.
Summer Bronson recorded a time of 9.19 seconds in the women's 55-meter hurdles and qualified for the finals. She improved her time to 9.10 seconds in the finals for a fifth-place finish.
Stacey Berg clocked a time of 23.43 seconds to finish sixth in the men's 200-meter race. He was tenth in the long jump with a measurement of 20 feet and 3.5 inches. Berg was 13th in the men's 55-meter dash in 6.81 seconds.
Michael Hoffman placed seventh in the men's one-mile run. He clocked a time of 4:42.61.
Ryan Gimbel was seventh in the men's weight throw with a measurement of 43 feet and 7.25 inches. He was ninth in the shot put (42 feet, .5 inches)
In the women's weight throw, Brittany Pearson finished with a measurement of 38 feet and 9.5 inches for an eighth-place finish.
Other women's place finishers are: Bronson (15th in 200-meter run – 28.92 seconds); Claire Beck (10th in 400-meter dash – 1:03.79 and 18th in 200-meter run – 29.64 seconds); Nicole Jurrens (20th in 400-meter dash – 1:09.21 and 21st in 200-meter run – 31.29 seconds); Sara Schultz (18th in 800-meter run – 2:57.46); Amber Wiebenga (16th in 1000-meter run – 3:51.02) and Shannon Spurgin (19th in long jump – 14 feet and 8.75 inches).
Other men's place finishers are: Chance Clason (34th in 55-meter dash – 7.27 seconds and 39th in 200-meter dash – 25.99 seconds); Andrew Gross (28th in 200-meter dash – 24.97 seconds); Cordell Muilenburg (31st in 400-meter dash – 56.94 seconds and 35th in 200-meter dash – 25.54 seconds); Chad Pelkofer (11th in 55-meter hurdles – 8.57 seconds and 37th in 200-meter dash – 25.77 seconds); Ike Pohlman (32nd in 400-meter dash – 57.89 seconds and 38th in 200-meter dash – 25.84 seconds); Joshua Scott (33rd in 400-meter dash – 58.45 seconds and 43rd in 200-meter dash – 27.55 seconds); Gabe Samuelson (24th in 400-meter dash – 55.11 seconds); Jim Wynia (16th in 1000-meter dash – 3:38.35); John Bintliff (17th in one-mile run – 4:54.02); Hoffman (12th in 3000-meter run – 9:09.49); Nic Penning (22nd in 3000-meter run – 9:35.96); Trevor Rossknecht (12th in shot put – 39 feet and 7 inches and 39 feet and 3.75 inches in weight throw) and Trevor Van Tilburg (9th in weight throw – 42 feet and 8.75 inches).
Dakota State returns back to Storm Lake, Iowa for the second time in two weeks. The Trojans compete in the Buena Vista Graphic Edge Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 8.
