Westover earns A.I.I. Female Athlete of the Week honor

MADISON, S.D. – The Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) has selected Dakota State's Kylie Westover as its Female Athlete of the Week, announced on Monday morning.
Westover, a 5-foot-6 sophomore guard from Colman, S.D., drained 7-of-18 3-pointers for the week and averaged 14.5 points a game. She hit 6-of-10 long-range shots in an 83-68 win over Midland (Neb.). After Saturday's game, Westover climbed to sixth spot in the DSU record book for career 3-pointers with 106.
Along with her 14.5 scoring average last week, she grabbed seven rebounds per game and averaged two assists. She shot 36.4 percent from the field for the week. She was also perfect from the free-throw line, hitting all six of her free throws.
According to the NAIA-DakStats statistical website as of Monday, Westover ranks 42nd in the nation in total 3-point field goal made with 54 and 45th in 3-point field goal made per game (2.1).
Kylie is the daughter of Rich and Kelley Westover. She is a Business Management major at Dakota State University.
