Three DSU men’s basketball receives post-season awards

MADISON, S.D. – Two Dakota State University men's basketball team – Spencer Adams and Jesse Bean – received Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) second-team all-conference honor, announced Tuesday. DSU's head coach Gary Garner was named the A.I.I. Coach of the Year after capturing their first-ever A.I.I. conference championships on Feb. 26.
Adams averages 12.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this season. He shoots 46.3 percent from the field. He records 17 blocked shots.
Bean leads the team with 13.8 points and 2.6 assists per game for the Trojans. He shoots 45.2 percent from the field. Bean was named to the State Farm A.I.I. All-Tournament team.
Garner, in his third year as DSU's men's basketball head coach, guided the Trojans to their first national tournament bid for the first time in 20 years – the year when DSU advanced to the NAIA's 'Final Four'.
