Dakota State adds 14 football recruits
February 29, 2012
MADISON, S.D. - Dakota State University head football coach Josh Anderson is proud to announce the signing of 14 additional recruits to the 2012 recruiting class.
"Signing Day was a great day for the Trojans, but we are also very excited about these additional athletes," said Anderson. "We have only a few spots remaining to be filled, and we will post that information when we sign more athletes. I would also like to say thank you to all those who have helped us with our recruiting needs this spring."
Below is the 14 recruits added to the Trojan Football recruiting class:
Brandon Clark, DB – 6'1 – 185, Northland Pines High School/UW Marathon County, son of Charles Clark and Kristie Barnekow of Conover, Wis., Coach: Ryan Clark, Intended Major: Finance. "Brandon has some speed that we are excited about and will add necessary depth to our Defensive Corner position."
Adam Fideler, QB – 6'1 – 160, Sioux Valley High School, son of Ken Fideler of Volga, S.D., Coach: Peter Books, Intended Major: Business Management. "Adam is a tall and athletic quarterback that will develop well into our offense as he stays with our program."
Trevor Kenobbie, LB – 6'3 – 235, Wessington Springs High School, son of Roger & Lori Kenobbie of Wessington Springs, S.D., Coach: Jason Kolousek, Intended Major: Elementary Education. "Trevor has a lot of qualities we were looking for to help with the depth, and the future, of our middle linebacker position. Trevor's coach is also an alumnus of DSU."
Richard Lambert, Jr, WR – 6'0 – 170, North Forney High School, son of Richard Lambert & Kathleen Castillo of Forney, Texas, Coach: James Brown, Intended Major: Technical Communication. "Richard is a diamond in the rough as he was a receiver part of a run-heavy Texas offense. He runs good routes, catches the ball well, but he can also block well."
Ridge Lindberg, DT – 6'2 – 260, Waverly High School, son of Dennis & Hope Lindberg of Strandburg, S.D., Coach Billy Kirch, Intended Major: Biology. "Ridge knows what hard work is all about as he was a main reason for the Waverly-South Shore State Championship and only two losses in these last three seasons as a starter for WSS high school."
Peter Ktestakis-Malaga, CB – 5'9 – 165, Kearns High School, son of Chris Ktest & Olataga Malaga of West Jordan, Utah, Coach: Billy Cosper, Intended Major: Exercise Science. "Peter has excellent instincts and is another athlete that can play multiple positions in the defensive backfield for us, if needed, but we seem him helping us at the corner position."
David Novak, K/P – 5'11 – 185, Tanque Verde High School, son of Bruce & Peg Novak of Tucson, Ariz., Coach: Jim Lawwill, Intended Major: General Studies. "David is capable of doing all the kicking for us. As in kicking off, field goals/PAT's, and punting and will be a welcomed addition to our program immediately."
Nicholas Poole, DL – 6'2 – 245, Birdville High School, son of Kyle & Karen Poole of North Richland Hills, Texas, Coach: Jim Skinner, Intended Major: Computer & Network Security. "Nick is an athlete with good feet and a great frame. He's going to develop into a great player for us."
Preston Powell, OLB – 6'0 – 190, Forney High School, son of Keith & Tawnya Powell of Forney, Texas, Coach: Kevin Rush, Intended Major: General Studies. "Preston is a run-stopping outside linebacker with great agility in pass coverage as well. We are pleased with everything we saw in Preston."
Fernando Ramirez, LB – 6'0 – 195, Henry Sibley High School, son of Jose Ramirez & Olivia Carrillo of West St. Paul, Minn., Coach: Tom Orth, Intended Major: Business Management. "Fernando is a hard worker and will be a great addition to our team at linebacker."
Justin Summers, QB – 6'0 – 185, Kearns High School, son of Troy Summers of West Jordan, Utah, Coach: Bill Cosper, Intended Major: Biology. "Justin is an athlete at the QB position. He is a very talented running quarterback that also has excellent accuracy in the pocket and on the move."
Bobby Tisch, TE – 6'4 – 210, Minnesota Valley Lutheran, son of Don & Margaret Tisch of New Ulm, Minn., Coach: Jim Buboltz, Intended Major: Business Management. "Bobby has a lot of upside with him and we are excited about his athletic abilities. He'll be a part of a different offense than he is used to running and I'm sure he'll fit in well with what we are doing at DSU."
Hank Tolleson, DE – 6'2 – 205, St. Mary's High School, son of Chip & Lynne Tolleson of Phoenix, Ariz., Coach: Todd Williamson, Intended Major: Business Management. "Hank has high energy and a great motor. What we liked the most about him was how coachable he was when he was on our visit."
Parker Williams, OL – 6'2 – 290, Provo High School, son of Craig & Ana Williams of Provo, Utah, Coach: Saia Pope, Intended Major: Physical Education. "Parker has the size that we are looking for in our offensive line and he is also a big boy that moves his feet well and has great body control at the same time."
