Coy (junior, Hill City, S.D.) finished as an NAIA national champion in the men's 1000-meter run with a time of two minutes and 24.94 seconds.  He became the first DSU men's indoor track and field athlete in program history to capture a national champion in an individual event.  He set a new record time in the Trojan record book, which he previously set an old record time of 2:25.47 in 2011.

Coy's time is the fastest 1000-meter run ever run by an athlete at a South Dakota college.

Coy recorded his third straight year as NAIA All-American Indoor Track and Field honor in his career at Dakota State.

Fideler (senior, Volga, S.D.) earned an NAIA national runner-up in the men's one-mile run.  He clocked a new DSU record time of 4:06.64, which is also the fastest time in the men's one-mile by a South Dakota college athlete this year.  The previous old DSU record time was set by Coy with a time of 4:11.12 this season.

Fideler's time is also the sixth fastest mile run ever by an athlete at a South Dakota college.  He earned his third NAIA Indoor Track and Field All-American honor in his career at DSU.

Dakota State accumulated 18 points at the NAIA indoor track and field national meet, which is a 12th-place finish overall as a team.
