Onodera named to 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete

Yui OnoderaKANSAS CITY, Mo. – Yui Onodera of Dakota State University is one of 162 Division II Women's Basketball student-athletes being named to 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.  The national scholar-athletes list was announced on Monday from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national office.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Onodera's host parents are Jay and Lois Niedert of Madison, S.D.  She is a junior Professional Accounting/Finance major at Dakota State University.  Onodera is a native of Senmaya, Japan.
