Dakota State completed a historical 2011-12 men's basketball campaign with an 18-13 overall record; most wins in 20 years when DSU went to the 'Final Four' in 1992 with a 19-16 record.  The Trojans also won their first-ever Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) conference tournament, which was hosted in Madison.

DSU dropped an overtime heartbreaker to current-No. 4 McPherson (Kan.) 69-63 in the first-round of the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament's first-round game in Point Lookout, Mo.
