Bouricer earns weekly honor from Association of Independent Institutions

Ryan BourcierMADISON, S.D. – Ryan Bouricer of Dakota State University baseball team was selected as Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Male Athlete of the Week honor, announced Monday morning.

Bourcier, a 6-foot-1 first baseman from Warren, Mich., paced the Trojans to a 4-2 week as he compiled a .500 batting average and a 1.000 slugging percentage.  He went 8-for-16 at the plate with two doubles, two home runs (including a game-winning two-run home run in the first game versus Dakota Wesleyan on March 21) and seven RBIs in a pair of wins over in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan and a four-game series split with Jamestown (N.D.)

Ryan is the son of Raymond and Melanie Bourcier of Warren, Mich.  He is a junior Exercise Science major at Dakota State University.

Dakota State (15-16 overall record) continues their 12-game home stand on Tuesday late afternoon.  The Trojans host in-state rival Mount Marty in a doubleheader.  First game of the doubleheader is set to start at 4:30 p.m. at Flynn Field.
