Trojan softball drops three games at Morningside Invitational Saturday

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Dakota State dropped three games in the Morningside Softball Invitational Saturday at SYA Complex. The tournament began on Friday and will conclude on Sunday, hosted by Morningside College.
Dakota State dropped their overall record to 10-13.
The Trojans dropped their first game of the day versus Midland (Neb.), a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). The Warriors won by the score of 4-1.
Northwestern (Iowa) won the rematch with the Trojans in DSU's second game of the day. The Red Raiders earned a 2-0 victory over Dakota State.
The Trojans lost the third game of the day to Bellevue (Neb.), receiving votes in the latest NAIA Softball national poll. The Bruins defeated DSU 16-1 in five innings.
Dakota State will attempt to end their losing skid Sunday afternoon in the Morningside Invitational with a pair of games versus GPAC. The Trojans take on in-state rival Mount Marty at 1 p.m. and conclude the tournament against host-team Morningside at 3 p.m.
