June 28, 2012
BEYOND SPORTS NETWORK (BSN) NAIA PRESEASON ALL-AMERICAN LISTINGS
MADISON, S.D. - The Dakota State University's football season opener is just less than two months away, but preseason honors have already started coming in for Eric Liles. He was named to the 2012 Beyond Sports Network (BSN) NAIA Preseason All-American second team. It was announced by BSN this week.
Liles, a senior defensive linebacker, led the Trojans with 94 tackles during the 2011 season. He averaged 10.4 tackles per game. According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website in 2011, Liles ranks sixth in the nation in tackles (all positions) per game.
"Eric has been a solid tackler for us the past three years and it's nice to see one of our own get some national recognition," said DSU's head football coach Josh Anderson. "He worked hard to make himself better and I believe Eric will have another productive year to finish out his career at DSU!"
Liles amassed a total of 268 tackles during his career at DSU.
Eric is the son of Eric Liles, Sr. and Maria Hodge of Queen Creek, Ariz. He majors in Exercise Science at Dakota State University.
Dakota State begins their fall camp in early August before playing their first game of the 2012 season at home. The Trojans host Peru State (Neb.) in Trojans' season home opener on Aug. 25. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m. at Trojan Field.
