Dakota State announces indoor and outdoor track schedules

2012-13 DSU TRACK & FIELD SCHEDULE
MADISON, S.D. – The official track season does not get 'underway' in more than two months later, Dakota State announced its indoor and outdoor track schedules for 2012-13 season.
DSU kicks off the indoor track schedule on Dec. 1, 2012. The long distance runners compete in the Fremont Half-Marathon in Fremont, Neb. The half-marathon race gives the opportunity for the runners to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in marathon event.
The Trojan indoor track and field teams will participate in the Minnesota State-Mankato Open on Dec. 8 in Mankato, Minn.
Dakota State begins their 2013 schedule in Sioux Center, Iowa as they compete in the Dordt Invitational.
DSU will take partial team members to the Iowa State Open on Jan. 18-19 and Frank Sevigne Husker Open (University of Nebraska) on Feb. 1-2.
The Trojans begin their 2013 outdoor track and field season at home on March 28. DSU hosts its own meet – DSU Invitational – at the Trojan Field. Dakota State also hosts its home meet – Trojan Invitational – on April 25.
Each individual or relay team members will need to meet the NAIA's automatic qualifying standards to qualify for nationals during the regular season. The NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships take place in the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Feb. 28-March 2. The outdoor track and field national meet will be held on May 23-25 in Marion, Ind., hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
